April 22 is Earth Day!

We love nature here in White Rock- and how could we not?  We have constant reminders of its majesty, from our beautiful views of the ocean to the gorgeous serenity of our parks.  For White Rock locals, Earth Day is a vital reminder of the importance of protecting the environment.

Here’s how you can celebrate Earth Day in White Rock!

Explore White Rock’s Parks & Trails:

White Rock has an amazing variety of parks and trails, and Earth Day is a great excuse to explore them (not that you need an excuse…)!

With over 80 acres of parkland in our 5 km sq city, we have a park for every occasion.  Looking to revel in nature?  Ruth Johnson Park has an extensive trail system.  Want to enjoy a picnic under the trees?  We love Hogg Park on Buena Vista Ave.  Looking for that perfect ocean view with a coffee in hand?  Stop by Stager Park.

You can find all the details on our parks here.

Also, did you know that White Rock has a Pollinator Meadow Project?  The City of White Rock has turned our hillside trail system into landscapes that support wild pollinators (such as bees and butterflies) with a wide array of plants and flowers.  In addition to making our hillside walkways more beautiful, they support nature and cool down the ambient temperature.  You can learn more here.

Soak in the Seascape:

Of course, what trip to White Rock is complete without enjoying the beautiful ocean views?

Whether it’s from the Pier, the Promenade, the Hillside Walkways, or even Uptown, taking the time to stop and enjoy the view is a great way to relax and relieve stress.

Be sure to send us your best photo- we may feature it on our social media channels!
