The City of White Rock and the City of Surrey have teamed up to present the 2nd annual White Rock & South Surrey Culture Crawl. This weekend-long event will be taking place on October 4th and 5th 2025, so mark your calendars!

Enjoy visiting 28 sites across the peninsula over two jam-packed days of art displays, theatre and musical performances, tours, heritage displays, and much, much more.

One exciting addition to the culture crawl for 2025 is the new complementary shuttle service that will be operating throughout the weekend. No reservations or tickets are required, simply show up and hop on!

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4th:

The Culture Crawl kicks off on Saturday October 4th at 10:00am! Get a coffee at Bean Around the World, Chez Christophe, Caffe Artigiano, or Pelican Rougue before you check out:

  • The Uptown Gallery Artist in Residence with Easton Arnouse- 15140 North Bluff Rd, White Rock
    • Join Semiahmoo First Nation artist Easton Arnouse at the Uptown Gallery Artist in Residence for an engaging look at his art and live demos!
  • Turning By Winch- 900 Dolphin Street, White Rock
    • Studio tours of woodturning. Display of many daily use pieces and art objects created from local trees that have been ravaged by time or cleared to make room for new construction.
  • Nomad Gallery – 1377 Johnston Rd, White Rock
    • Four Squared, a local exhibition unites four distinct voices: Together, they offer a richly textured journey through colour, experiences, and texture- each artist revealing a unique lens on the world yet opportunity to ask questions of the Director!
  • Rehearsal with the White Rock City Orchestra- 14600 North Bluff Road, Centennial Park Leisure Centre, White Rock
    • From 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, watch The White Rock City Orchestra prepare for their Christmas/New Years Eve concert. This will be an open rehearsal, and you can ask questions of one of the players.

Be sure to stop at Banh Mi Tres Bon, Tacofino, Hillcrest Bakery, or Pho 777 for lunch so you can refuel before visiting some of the amazing activities in the afternoon:

  • Art Sandbox, Hosted by Semiahmoo Arts Society- Kent Street Activity Centre, 1475 Kent St, White Rock
    • Participate in this free sampling of Arts Sandbox classes, offered by Semiahmoo Arts Society throughout the year.
  • The Turn of the Screw and Murders, Presented by the White Rock Players Club, from 1 pm to 5 pm- 1532 Johnston Rd, White Rock
    • Don’t miss these two suspense-filled plays!
  • ONLINE: Artist Talk from 5 pm to 6 pm

Plus, the fun continues into the evening!  Grab a drink at 3 Dogs Brewing, the Beer Shack, or White Rock Beach Beer before capping off your day with:

  • Improv and Comedy with Peninsula Productions- 14600 North Bluff Rd, White Rock
    • From 7 pm to 9 pm, join Peninsula Productions for a free evening of improv and comedy!
  • Oktoberfest with The Gordanairs at Blue Frog Studios- 1328 Johnston Rd, White Rock
    • This ticketed event features the stars of the famous Leavenworth and Mount Angel Oktoberfest! Enjoy traditional German dances and music.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5th:

Pick up a coffee at Laura’s Coffee Corner or Islands Café before you start your morning off at the:

  • White Rock Museum and Archives- 14970 Marine Dr, White Rock
    • The White Rock Museum & Archives is pulling back the curtain on the work that goes into cataloguing new collection objects and preserving cultural heritage. Chat with the Collections and Exhibits Manager about behind-the-scenes museum work, collections management, and any questions you may have!
  • City of White Rock Dance Programs at the White Rock Community Centre- 15154 Russell Ave, White Rock
    • Latin Dance with Magali Cardoso, Sunday, 10 -11 a.m.
    • Swing Dance with Magali Cardosa, Sunday, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
    • Belly Dance Class with Annyse Rayne, Sunday, 12 – 1 p.m.

After grabbing lunch at Taka’s Sushi or Morrison Kitchen + Bar, be sure to visit:

  • Reading of ‘The Littlest Dinosaur’ at the White Rock Library- 15342 Buena Vista Ave, White Rock
    • Visit the White Rock Library between 2 pm and 3 pm for a reading along with authors Bryce Raffle and Steven Kothlow, the authors of The Littlest Dinosaur.
  • Visit The Shop Next Door- 1187 Johnston Rd, White Rock
    • Make sure one of your stops is this artist collective! Artists will be on site showing samples of their work, discussing their process. Support local and find that favourite piece you didn’t know you were missing!
