(Please note that due to the measures announced by the Provincial Health Officer, the start date of the White Rock Festival of Lights has been delayed until after December 7, 2020.)

Although Christmas celebrations are going to look a little bit different this year, the tradition of going out to see spectacular holiday lights is alive and well in White Rock. White Rock’s Festival of Lights is back and brighter than ever! This 2nd annual event will see White Rock’s waterfront transformed into a wonderland of twinkling lights this holiday season. Drive by, or pick up a hot chocolate and enjoy a stroll through the light displays, and while you’re there don’t miss out on your favourite local spots to grab a bite to eat or do a little Christmas shopping.

This year, the event is expanding and will reach from Oxford Street to the white rock, with three spectacular 30-foot holiday trees in Memorial Park, near Oxford Street and at East Beach. The Magical Meadow is back with thousands of lights and hundreds of lanterns decorated by students from Star of the Sea School. The ever-popular illuminated Sea Horses are back and each week more will be added. Be sure to visit the living Christmas trees and keep an eye out for the ones decorated by your favourite businesses. And new this year are the light panels installed on the BNSF railway fencing between the White Rock Museum and the pier.

The White Rock Festival of Lights begins November 28, 2020, and runs until January 9, 2021.  This event is outdoors and allows for social-distancing.
